Laulea translates to peaceful happiness in Hawaiian—the guiding spirit behind Chuck and Nancy Ponthier’s farm life. They first visited Hawaiʻi on family trips with their children and never fully moved on. Chuck, once a footwear executive with a strong coffee habit, found his interest in artisanal coffee, warm water, and soil deepening over time. Nancy provided a calm, steady presence at home and in the accounts. As an open-water swimmer, home roaster, and avid gardener, Kona became less a getaway and more a calling. Today, Chuck manages daily operations, comfortably covered in coffee, grass, and soil. Nancy keeps the finances aligned and the farm on course—sometimes gently noting that Chuck does not need a new tractor, at least not this month. Laulea forms the quiet rhythm of our farm, a harmony of peace, friendship, and happiness. Each bright blossom is tended with this spirit, brewing into a cup that offers a warm embrace of aloha. To drink our Kona coffee is to taste the island sun and discover a calm moment of connection. What started as a passion project has grown into something more.
